Of Music and Loneliness

Whenever I'm alone and listening to music, I can't help but be sentimental. To the point that I can easily relate my own experiences to each and every song being played. I remember a time during my college days, I'm in my room, listening over the radio where the DJ was giving love advices and playing a song specifically intended for the caller or the letter sender. The song that he played was Somewhere Down the Road (yeah, corny na!), I was so touched by the song that it made me reminisce on my personal experiences about love. I got so carried away that it even brought me to tears. Super emote lang. Heehee. I didn't realize that my sister is already in my room and when she saw me crying, she worriedly asked me what's wrong. Of course, I didn't admit that it's because of the song, dyahe! I lied and just said that my tummy is aching. Hahahah!

Marine Base Resort (Ternate, Cavite)

We're planning to have our family outing by April 2012 and we've considered Marine Base Resort (or Boracay de Cavite) as one of the options. In order for us to be sure that this place is a good venue for our outing, me and my boyfriend together with my two cousins went there to see the place personally. We came from Dasmarinas Cavite and left the house at around 8am riding on motorcycle (nag-backride lang ako syempre!) and we reached the resort around 9:30am. I think travel time will be shorter if you really knew the place since on our case, we had occasional stops so we can ask directions from the locals.

Anyways, we paid the entrance fee of 100php per head and 10php for the parking fee of our motorcycle. From the gate we still traveled about five kilometers to reach the resort. It has been a long and winding journey (haha!) but we really enjoyed it because of the beautiful scenery that you will see while on the road. if you love seeing greens and waters, you will surely love it. Oh! and we even saw a monkey on the road!

When we finally got on the resort itself, we saw some of the marines having their sort of training. Well, since we got there just to survey the place, we didn't waste our time. We looked for the available rooms (unfortunately all rooms are occupied at that time so we were not able to get pictures), and checked the facilities/amenities that this resort has to offer. we only got few pics since we spend most of our time enjoying the water. Here are some of the pictures and other details.

Entrance fee
~ 100php/head (day) * 200php/head (overnight)

Parking fee
~ 10php/motorcycle (day) * 20php/motorcycle (overnight)
~ 50php/vehicle (day) * 100php/vehicle (overnight)

Rooms
~ 700php (day/overnight)

Cottage
~ 350php - 450php (day/overnight)

Table
~ 250php (day/overnight)

To summarize our very short stay on this resort, I can say that the water is good although it's not that clear since maalon at that time but i didn't see any jellyfish or anything like that. The shore has off-white and fine sand. The fan rooms seemed to be okay for 700php. Rooms have 2 single beds and CR. What I didn't like here is the shower area. Obviously, they lack maintenance of the public shower/changing area. Also, the toilet doesn't even have a door! you're lucky if you've rented a room so you can have your private CR. And for your convenience, you need to bring your own food especially if you'll be staying overnight since the resort is really far from the public market. Although there is a sort of sari-sari store inside the resort wherein you can buy softdrinks, chichiria, plastic cups, soap, shampoo among others, it is still best to have your own food, utensils and toiletries.

So there, I hope this post of mine was able to give you a glimpse of Marine Base Resort. Thanks for reading and have a blessed day! ^_^
